What Is App Privacy Label?

Apple's required disclosure of what data your app collects and how it's used, shown on the App Store product page.

Since iOS 14.3, every App Store listing shows a privacy label summarizing three categories: Data Used to Track You (across apps and websites owned by other companies), Data Linked to You (tied to user identity), and Data Not Linked to You. You declare each data type you collect and its purpose during App Store submission. Apple reviewers cross-check label accuracy against your app's actual behavior; inaccurate labels are grounds for rejection.

Common Questions

What happens if my label is wrong?
Apple can reject the app, remove it from the store, or require an update. Inaccurate labels hurt long-term user trust even when not caught.
Do I need a Privacy Policy if I don't collect data?
Yes. Even 'no data collected' requires a Privacy Policy URL per Guideline 5.1.1.
